Cubans for De-…Trump?

  Cuban Americans are split between supporting the upcoming presidential candidates. The majority of Cuban Americans in Florida are conservative republicans. As mentioned by the pew research “Nationwide, 58% of Cuban registered voters say they affiliate with or lean toward the Republican Party, while 38% identify with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, according to a Pew Research Center survey ” https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2020/10/02/most-cuban-american-voters-identify-as-republican-in-2020/ Cubans and Cuban-Americans have shown their support for republican members in governor races electing DeSantis and presidential ones electing for Trump. Tensions are clear between Cubans who support Desantis vs those who support trump. As seen by various tweets many have expressed their concerts over DeSantis past actions of disloyalty towrads Trump. Georgia wants Latino voters!

With the 2024 election on its way, the scramble to garner individual support and potential voters is ongoing. Georgia is typically known as a battleground state, especially seen in the competition between the Atlanta area (typically Democratic) against rural Georgia (typically Republican).  According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution “ Roughly one in 10 Georgia residents are Hispanic, and their growth in numbers has come with increased political power” https://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-news/new-survey-georgia-latino-voters-share-top-concerns/XLUTUEVEXBCPNLFTKHAWTVITWM/ The Latino population/vote has continuously been ignored and reduced to conversation regarding immigration. Despite this Latinos very much have other interests and concerns within the state and the country as a whole.
